Following a serious flood due to defective plumbing in a new build property, our client had great difficulty in reaching agreement with the original developer as to the extent of remedial action necessary. In order to provoke an appropriate response legal advisers were appointed who, in turn, appointed us to define the full scope of repairs necessary.
“…. You were instructed to act as a joint expert on behalf of both my client and the original builders of the property (which was a well known national firm) in relation to the works necessary to get my client’s flat back into its previous condition following a flood at the property some time earlier.
Your report was succinct and to the point and, most importantly, was quite understandable by both sides. It was accepted in full by both parties which, for my client, meant that all the works that she contested ought to be carried out by the builders were carried out (although it took them far longer than it should have done).
My client (and I) were very pleased with your report which undoubtedly enabled the dispute to be resolved and I would have no hesitation in recommending your services as an expert to others or to instructing you myself again if my clients needed a report from a surveying expert (and of course I have in fact done so). I also know that the loss adjuster acting for the builders was also impressed with your work as he recommended you to one of his colleagues to prepare a report on another matter. “
The above testimonial was written by the appointing Solicitor Partner. The works included new joinery, replacement kitchen units, new floor finishes, complete internal decorations and repairs to the balcony detailing.
